LASIK eye surgery involves the use of a surgical laser known as excimer laser that uses a cool beam of light to reshape the cornea, thereby eliminating refractive errors such as farsightedness, nearsightedness and astigmatism.
When performed by Dr. Niksarli, a leading NYC LASIK provider, this vision correction treatment is a short in-office procedure that lasts about 10 to 15 minutes for each eye. LASIK patients are provided with anesthetic eye drops for maximum comfort. Improved vision following LASIK eye surgery is experienced the next morning following surgery, and most patients are able to return to work. Some dryness and minor visual fluctuations are expected within the first few days.
Dr. Niksarli is a nationally recognized LASIK eye surgeon who has an excellent track record of providing his Manhattan LASIK patients with remarkable vision correction results. His surgical skills and expertise attract patients from around the world.
LASEK is an excellent treatment option for patients whose cornea may be too thin for the LASIK procedure. LASEK is similar to LASIK in that a laser is used to reshape the cornea for better vision. However, unlike LASIK, LASEK involves the removal of the superficial layer of the cornea, which is then replaced following treatment. LASEK is also associated with a longer recovery time. If you are not a good candidate for LASIK, Dr. Niksarli and his medical team will help you decide whether LASEK is a good treatment option for you.
CUSTOM LASIK, also known as wavefront LASIK, is an individually tailored LASIK treatment that leads to better vision correction outcomes. To perform Custom LASIK, Dr. Niksarli uses the advanced VISX Wavescan/Star S4 laser or the Bausch & Lomb’s Zyoptic laser system to capture a unique map of each patient’s refractive errors, which cannot be detected with any other diagnostic equipment or traditional eye exams. This unique information, often referred to as the eye’s “fingerprint” is then used to calibrate the surgical laser to provide vision correction results that are up to 25 times more accurate.
NO-BLADE LASIK – INTRALASIK is an enhanced corneal flap creation method. Traditionally, a surgical tool known as microkeratome was used to create the corneal flap. However, during IntraLASIK, Dr. Niksarli uses a femtosecond laser to create the corneal flap. This method is less-invasive, more precise and safer in that it eliminates the risk of complications associated with a surgical blade. IntraLASIK also minimizes patient anxiety.
CUSTOM-INTRALASIK is the combination of wavefront LASIK and bladeless LASIK to provide NYC LASIK patients with the highest standard of vision correction surgery. Dr. Niksarli is among the select few NYC LASIK surgeons whose surgical suite is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology for the Custom IntraLASIK procedure. CK (conductive keratoplasty) is a non-invasive vision correction surgery in which radio waves are used to reshape the cornea by shrinking collagen fibers. It is offered by Dr. Niksarli for his NYC vision correction patients who suffer from mild to moderate hyperopia (farsightedness) or presbyopia, an age-related condition associated with the eye’s inability to focus on nearby objects. Patients who undergo CK are generally much less dependent on corrective eyewear following treatment.
CK leads to immediate results with continued improvements over the next few weeks.
A complete preoperative evaluation is required to determine your candidacy for CK. To learn more, please schedule an eye exam with Dr. Niksarli.
